About Beretta M9A1

The Beretta M9 A1, is a semi automatic pistol, chambered with 9mm Luger ammunition, M9 A1, is a 9×19mm Parabellum pistol adopted by the United States Armed Forces in 1985. It’s an enhanced version of the famous Beretta M9 The Beretta M9 A1 is simple blowback, with a single or double action trigger mechanism and with exposed hammer. The magazine release button is placed in the left side of the grip, located between the grip retaining screws. The frame is made of aluminum alloy. Slide and barrel are either made of carbon steel or stainless steel. The hammer of the model is a half-cock safety system. These were completely made of steel, including the frame and other parts. One specific feature of this model is definitely the 'tip-up' barrel. The barrel pivots, were designed under the muzzle so the chamber can be easily loaded with the slide in the closed position. It makes better and simplifies loading, unloading and checking load status, as the slide is quite difficult to retract by hand. The Beretta M9 A1 was designed without any extractor. It is relying just on blowback inertia in order to remove fired cases from the chamber. It can make it mainly sensitive to choice of ammunition to permit dependable operation. Concealed carry options and its suitability are very subjective. However smaller versions can be concealed easier but may be more difficult to handle. More powerful ammunition has greater stopping power but it’s more difficult to fire accurately. Sights of the model are fixed on the frame.
